Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi is one of the numerous brunettes prepared to become world-class stars after the death of Gina Llobrigida. Following her work on both the coasts of the Atlantic in the 1950s in movies like Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958), Luciana Paluzzi had a shot at American TV fame in the character of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. In 1965 she was approached by Bond producers about a role as Domino Derval, the main girl in Thunderball. Terence Young, the director suggested that she be given Fiona Volpe the role as the villain. She was one of the only a handful of women who was able to stand up to the temptation of Mr. Bond Maybe as a form of punishment for this, Fiona is killed on the dance floor by her colleagues, after which James places her body on the table nearby and tells her "Do you think it's okay if my friend sits it out with me? The girl is dead." The blockbuster at the box office enabled Luciana Paluzzi to extend her European film career throughout the '70s in both the US and Europe, with films including Captain Nemo And The Underwater City (1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (1973), The Klansman (1974) as well as The Greek Tycoon
